Why I would go to Grace Lutheran’s German Lunch?
Food and fellowship. A simple concept. And one that has sustained the Grace Lutheran’s Annual German Luncheon for over 20 years. On Friday October 26th, you have an opportunity to take part in this long standing Huntsville tradition that celebrates our community’s heritage.
Tradition
Conceived over 20 years ago by members of Grace Lutheran Church, the annual German Luncheon began as a way to celebrate the German heritage of the Lutheran Church. But in it’s more than two decades, the event has grown to become much more. It gives the church and the community a reason to gather together with friends and fellow community members and celebrate.
Participating gives you an opportunity to meet new people, support the Grace Lutheran School and enjoy great German food. The entire community is invited to attend the luncheon or get a to go box.
Something new added this year are deliveries. The church is taking food to those that don’t have the time make it out or don’t have transportation.
The Food
All food served is made from scratch by a crew of over 100 volunteers! Last year, we served over 900 meals! The menu is carefully chosen, and based on dishes that were the most popular among the German’s. And I went to last year’s luncheon and I certainly can attest that the food is delicious!
Attendees have 2 lunch options.
Option 1:
- Rouladen
- Red Cabbage
- Noodles & Gravy
- German Bread
- Apfel Kuchen (Apple Cake)
