Karessa Acosta is just your average international sensation…but by international sensation we mean a Filipino-American southern mama with a weakness for shopping, sweets, and all things creative. Born in Biloxi, Mississippi and raised in Gulfport, Karessa moved to Huntsville at the ripe age of 6. A Grissom High grad, Karessa attended the University of South Alabama in Mobile her freshman year of college and earned her B.A. in Communication Arts as well as a minor in Business Administration at UAHuntsville. When she’s not busy freelancing, pinning things on Pinterest, or hanging out with her family, she tries to stay as involved in the community as possible. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Rotaract Club of Huntsville, Art Krewe, and is a graduate of Connect Class 13 with Leadership Huntsville/Madison County. She is also involved with the Philippine American Association of Alabama here in Huntsville as a Youth Dance Instructor. Karessa was recently nominated for the Chamber of Commerce of Huntsville/Madison County’s 2012 Young Professional of the Year award where she also serves on their Ambassador Council.
